In the million square miles that the Caribbean Sea covers, there are only 4 coral atolls (sea mounts) and 3 of these atolls are in Belize’s waters: Lighthouse Reef Atoll, Turneffe Island Atoll and Glover’s Reef Atoll. This last atoll is located just south of Dangriga town and is in close proximity to Villa Verano (about 30 miles offshore). This atoll is so amazing that it was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations. The island is about 15 miles long and 6 miles wide and is one of Belize’s most pristine destinations.
On calm days we are able to safely access the atoll providing guests with fantastic scenery and awesome snorkeling amongst the miles of reef which outline this coral atoll. Glover’s Atoll has over 800 massive coral formations, many of which provide great snorkeling opportunities. At the center of the atoll is a calm and beautiful lagoon with shallow water and teeming with marine life.
This atoll is one of the best spots for kayaking, snorkeling, exceptional diving and sailing. The colorful fish that inhabit the atoll are plentiful and leave you in a sense of awe and wonder!
Your trip will include lunch on one of the small islands on the atoll and continue on to underwater exploration of the brightly colored and richly textured reef system.
Snacks, lunch and water are provided on the tour. Snorkel gear is complimentary.
